An authentic caro scarf takes many days to create.
Our artisans in Ladakh and Delhi use various skills to process raw materials and produce regionally distinctive dyes, weaves and embroideries. They have a profound knowledge of the traditional techniques and understanding of our design and quality requirements.
Each scarf is created by hand and requires an accurate process from start to finish. Once the goats are combed, the spinners manually remove all impurities from raw pashm before it is spun. The pashm is the fine, soft wool from the underfur of the goats. Spinning yarn, handloom weaving, clipping loose threads and knots are the next steps before our product is dyed with azo-free dyes.
The making of caro scarfs is then finalised in our atelier in Delhi, where we finish the product with handcrafted design details under the supervision of our Creative Director.
